Located in Gary, Ind., Gary Lighthouse Charter School is an educational institution that serves students in kindergarten through grade eight. It is an intermediate school that works to prepare students for college through an art-infused program. The school is part of Lighthouse Academies, which is a national nonprofit charter school management organization that opens and operates various schools in urban areas. Lighthouse Academies administers college visits and helps students in seventh and eighth grades to participate in a collaborative academic and career planning curriculum for students, teachers and families. It is supported by Donald and Doris Fisher Fund, Walton Family Foundation, Walmart and the Foundations of East Chicago.
