General Info

We are a free museum in downtown Garretson located in what originally was the Garretson Bank and Drug Store buildings which was built in 1895. We are also listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Come experience local history as well as of the surrounding area like of Sherman. Our specialties include a wide assortment of military accessories, scrapbooks of past & present local area obit...uaries, (in the basement) a display of local agricultural history, and much much more. Call or email us for appointments, we are available for groups also. The Historical Society holds a meeting every 4th Monday of the month at 7pm which are open for anybody interested in local history. Donations are much appreciated!
