Established in 1985, Luna Elementary is an educational institution that provides a range of academic and extracurricular programs for students. It enrolls students in kindergarten through grade five. The school offer instruction in fine arts and health and physical education. It participates in English as a Second Language and special education programs. Luna Elementary organizes choir shows, fundraising events, good citizen assemblies, family reading and movie nights, and book and science fairs. It maintains a library that provides inline information related to book catalogs, databases, public libraries and Web sites for magazines, newspapers, encyclopedias and pictures. The school additionally has a parent-teacher organization that assists school administration in various fundraisers and educational events. Luna Elementary is a part of the Garland Independent School District, which governs elementary, middle and high schools.
