I opened a savings account at GFA credit union - Ashburnham, MA. When I moved a couple of years ago I forgot to change my mailing address. I went into the bank a couple of days ago to close the account and the bank had taken out over $400 because they couldn't send me my statements. BECAUSE they DID NOT send my statements. So they had less work to do and charged me for it. Many phone calls to various managers and they insist this is legal. REALLY???!!!

This is the worst bank I have ever dealt with. I don't think even they know what their policies are. Everytime I go there it changes. I really think the tellers just make up their own rules as the go depending on their moods. When you call with a complaint you can not speak to anyone higher than a teller. This bank is the complete opposite of customer service.

I think gfa bank compared to td bank is very inconvient to customers I lost my wallet and I needed a new debit mastercard I finally got my new debit card in the mail after two weeks but I received no pin number in the mail like they said they would so I called customer service and they told me they would call into the Rindge branch where I do business and they would be able to give me one there.wellwhen I went over to the rindge branch and told them they had no record of anybody from customer service calling them and had no idea what I was talking about. I guess my mistake was not asking customer service who I was talking with.so the teller at the window called customer service on my behalf to verify my story and try to find out who talked to me and of course no one knew anything about it. well this made me look like a liar then the teller said I would have to wait somemore till my pin number came in the mail now we would be going on three weeks. so after saying this is unacceptable

Always feel that GFA is a different kind of bank and the people there make me feel that that want my business. Much better bank than some of the larger institutions!

I don't know who O.K.'d the current ATM Machine at the Parker Street Location but that person should be made to use it !! You can only do 1 transaction at a time and each time you need to wait for the machine to clear. IT IS REDICULOUS !!

GFA bank needs to bring their method of doing business up to the current century. They tend to be very inflexible and don't have the capacity to function in the modern world. I prefer small local banks, but this is not the one. In particular, watch how they deal with loans.

I love GFA. Having dealt with many of the impersonal big banks in the area, I find their personal attention refreshing. They are much better at handling peak traffic times than Shawmut (no wonder they are no longer in business) ever was. ALL of the tellers are consistently pleasant and go out of their way to accommodate (within their rules). Try them yourself, and see. I hope they stay around a long long time.

GFA is the worst bank that i have ever dealt with. they are a small country style bank and operate under the same pretenses. This bank does not care about the customer, they only care about getting their cut. i have been with them for years and have not been satisfied for the majority of the time i have been a member. I'm counting the days until my loan is paid off so i do not have to associate with them again. If you do decide to sign on watch your finances, what you have in the bank account can change without notice.
