Established in 1972 through an act of the Alabama State legislature, Birmingham Parking Authority is engaged in the development and management of the off-street parking facilities for the City of Birmingham. The Birmingham City Council appoints a Board of Directors to govern the agency. Based in Alabama, the agency operates under the management of the parking industry professionals and receives finance from parking revenues. Birmingham Parking Authority manages nearly 10 garages and two surface lots.
