Founded in 1905, Nippon Travel Agency was the first agency to begin travel operations in Japan. It has expanded to more than 250 locations and thousands of employees, providing travel services in California, Hawaii, Nevada and New Jersey. Nippon operates its Land Operator Division and North America Operation Department in Gardena, Calif. Based in Tokyo, the company provides planning and organization for events for corporate executives traveling to and from Japan, acting as a source of information for both cultures. Nippon Travel Agency became a publicly traded company in 1949.
