I have first hand knowledge of GVCC as a past employee and as a parent.When I first started at this school I loved it!The teachers and parents were wonderful!The children in my class will always hold a special place in my heart.I taught there for many years.Then I started to see the way the staff were treated by the owner of the company.He says he loves to teach and is eager to pat himself on the back for it.Yet he does not practice what he preaches.We teach respect.he lacks this on so many levels. We teach tolerance..he has none.We teach love..he shows none.He intimidates and bully's.All the times that parents were paying material fees for supplies and other "things" I was supplementing my classroom out of my own pocket while loosing benefits.This man does not deserve to be in business.He is deceitful.He cares about himself and lining his pockets.Take a look at the state of Va. Licensing for GVCC.You will 20 violations.This never happened when he had a great staff that he lost!!!

We just put our children in this facility. The manager and teachers are great and our children were getting used to things, when all of the sudden we find out 3 of the teachers are laid off for the summer! Both of my children, do not have a teacher in thier class for the summer. This is unacceptable and the owner should be ashamed of himself for doing this to these wonderful teachers. We are being forced to look for other care for our children due to his actions. Very upsetting.

This center is great , THEY DON"T ALLOW ANY BULLYING ! NONE. And they are not afraid to ask a family of a bully to take the bully out if they won't work with a Parent University Behavior Coach ! Wish Public School did this... Every teacher and parent should go to Parent University; that's where I found out bullying almost always starts at home...

Although Gainesville Children's Center has gone through some managment changes, I must say that the teachers are fabulous and my child always enjoys himself there. The center itself is always clean and well equipped and summer time is especially well done.

My child attended this center for three years. We were happy until this past year. There have been numerous director changes. None of the directors meet the state of Va licensing (including the current director, Angie). The current teaching assistants do not meet the standard requirements either. There are numerous safety violations in the center and on the playground. The owner "Philip Adams" is out of touch and until recently I had never met him or seen him in the center. If I had met him earlier, I would have withdrawn my child immediately. His many rambling emails should have given me a clue as to how weird this guy is. His treatment of his loyal employees is pathetic. He doles out 40% pay cuts because of his poor business decisions and out of control lifestyle. Cut your dog nannie before your "real employees". Now has unqual teachers & staff. His own child does not attend his 'Philip renowned' Reston Day School. Don't buy into his Parent University. He is no family man.

I couldn't agree more with the previous review. The owner of this company doesn't care about anyone except himself! His Parent University classes are a joke...don't waste your time!! He treats his employees with disrespect & often uses threatening tactics.....Don't give this man your money!!! The teachers are great & deserve so much better!!!

Wow...what can I say? I wish we could give two ratings...one for Management and one for the Teachers. The Teachers would get 4 or 5 stars...Management, however, would receive a sold 2. Both of our children have attended since they were 18 months old and they love it and their teachers...that is the only thing keeping us there. The Management treats their teachers poorly...example would be if a class has minimal students attending that day, they send staff home w/o pay since they are "over covered". They still collect the tuition whether your child shows up or not, so why make your staff suffer when they expect to be paid for showing up for work. Shame on you GVCC mgt. Shout out to two exceptional teachers...Ms. Dorothy and Ms. Elsa...these two are shining stars. There are many other great teachers there as well and they dearly love our children. Before you slam the GVCC as a whole, make sure you don't slam those who are making our children's lives special...thank you teachers!!

I am so disappointed in this school. At one time this was a well respected place to send children to. It was a warm loving place that felt like a home away from home.I would recommend it to all my friends. Now I would not recommend it to my worse enemy. I find nothing left of the place I once loved. Parents need to ask more questions about the people taking care of your children. You would be surprised about what you would find out. I asked and that is why I am not there any more. I recommend to any parent that is thinking of taking their children to Gainesville Childrens Center to think twice and run to another place. Looks are deceiving. There is more than what meets the eye.

I love this school and more importantly my children love this school. I was shocked when a neighbor told me Gainesvlle Children Center had some negative reviews. After reading the reviews for myself I took a real hard look at everything this past week and still I loved what I saw. My children were excited to go to camp and did not want to leave in the afternoon. The teachers obviously care for the children. I can only guess the negative reviews come form people who can't afford the school and are looking for an excuse to find something cheaper. I don't know what else it could be. My son has attended this school from age 2 all the way through kindergarten and I am saddened by the fact he will no longer be attending this fall when he goes to first grade. My daughter started when she was four (junior kindergarten) and also attended the kindergarten, and she can't wait to return each summer.

My child just completed the private kindergarten program at gainesville children's center. I can tell you at first I was nervous because I wasn't sure about the education my child would receive. However as a teacher myself I can tell you I was very impressed. My daughter can now read she loves to learn. I am so glad she had the opportunity to be in Ms. Dorothy's class.

This center has gone down hill. you walk in and no one greets you anymore, the new director doesn't seem to care. The teachers are great and that is the only reason we are still there. This school is poorly managed!

I love the center! The new Directors are so attentive and warm, my son is always telling me something new that he learned, the teachers are alwayss greeting us with kind words and informing me on how his day has gone. I can wait for their awesome summer program! GO GVCC!

I adore Ms. Kelly for the MWF and T TH Preschool. She is kind, patient, and has worked for the company for 19 years. I can't speak for the daycare but I have many happy neighbors who use them.

Wonderful facility. Great activities and projects. Staff are very attentive and caring

I do not recommend this place. The teachers aren't trained to handle behavior issues in the classroom, if giving a break doesn't work, the children are sent to the office. They learn quickly that they aren't in trouble until sent to the office. Also, they charge way too much for field trips. Other centers have you pay an activity fee for the summer and it covers all weekly field trips. The field trip are a lot better as well.
