I can see where KCeater is coming from, but put it in context. I wouldn't go to Kansas City and complain that their clam chowder isn't as good as Boston or Maine. However, they do serve delicious food, with a smile, and a drink that is worth it. I am part time resident up there visiting 2x a month and it's quite enjoyable to have a great friendly place offering live music most nights and solid food in Fryeburg. Their nacho's are well built, pulled pork is very tastey, and their chicken is also very good. I advise those to give it a shot and take all reviews with a grain of salt. You're not going to get Boston pizza in Montana!
I'm a summer resident if Maine & a winter resident of Kansas City. I'm accustomed to world class BBQ. Waitress told me they are known for their smoked meats; when I ordered the 1/2 rack of ribs & specified a short end, no one knew what I meant. The cook needs to travel in BBQ country. They did serve the right end of the rack, but it was undercooked, not raw, but chewy. Ribs should come off the bone easily. These took work. There was a smokey taste, but I thought it was from liquid smoke and not from hours in the smoker. 2 kinds of BBQ sauce, one designated as spicy, but it was barely spicy, not much character. The bar had a friendly atmosphere; end of the day socializing but not rowdy. Lots of families eating. Attentive and friendly service. I'd go back, but I won't count on it being true BBQ.
This is a fabulous place to eat. Have been there on several occassions and yes, the service is a little slow, but who's in a hurry when enjoying the company of friends. The food is awesome, the steak tips are my favorite, and there's plenty to share. Everyone I have ever gone with has had nothing but praise for the food no matter what they ate. The previous rating must have been a flat lander. Sometimes there's just no pleasing them.

One of the worst places I have eaten. We have tried it twice. Slow service even when there are 2 tables. You can see the bar and it still takes 15 to 20 min to get a draft. What a joke. The food is overpriced and terrible. You would think that steak tips are hard to get wrong, ordered them medium and some were actually black and crispy burnt. could not eat, so we had a party of 5 both times we went bill close to 200.00, please don't waste your money.
