I have been a patient of Dr. Thomas for about 11 or 12 years and during that time, have never had any issues with Dr. Thomas or major issues with the office until recently. I wear two different types of contact lens and thought I had a remaining pair of clear lens two weeks ago, but did not. I called the office to order a box but was informed that it had been two years since my last appointment. I asked for a single pair (as I've many, many times before) and was informed that I needed to make an appointment BEFORE getting another pair or to order a box. When I stopped by to pick up my contacts two days later, I was told that I couldn't get the trial pair w/o making an appointment, which was not the same thing I was told two days earlier. Making an appointment that day was fine with me, I just couldn't make it at the moment, as I had didn't have my iPad with ALL of daily appointments and had people waiting on me both outside and at home. The reaction from the person behind the counter was abnormal as she got up to get "permission" which lasted about 6 minutes. When she returned, her interaction with me gave me pause and I felt as if I had "stolen" from Frisco Eye Associates and was about to be arrested. The condescending and demeaning words and actions.........I felt as if I was being treated like a THUG! Plain and simple. I immediately left and called the office and spoke with Ms. May with the title of "Office Manager". I explained to her how I was treated and in my sheer, emotional, devastated (yea, I was crying tears), I stated that I felt as if I was being treated as SH#$! She asked me not to use bad language and I apologized for using SH#$. It was not the first word of choice I wanted to use, but the actual word I wanted to use to describe how her staff treated me is by far the ugliest word in the dictionary. I was rather calm considering the circumstance and the tears stopped, but rather sad at this point, however Ms. May told me to give off the phone because I needed a different emotional outlook? Huh? Regardless if we had this conversation hours later or a few minutes later, I was still going to be emotionally sad!!! She wanted me "HAPPY" so I told her my emotional demeanor would not change and perhaps she should call me back when she understood that the situation did not call for a "happy" tone. The "Office Manager" then slammed the phone and our call was discontinued.

Even though you may find the BEST Eye Doctor in your town and be a LOYAL customer for over a decade, one HORRIBLE experience with non-medical staff can quickly end that relationship.

The actual eye doctors seem good. The problem is the policy. This office acts unethically and illegally because they do not follow the Fairness to Contact Lens Consumers Act. Yes, that is a real thing. It says we should get a copy of our eye prescriptions for free and we should be able to order glasses or contacts from anyone we choose within a year of the date we received our prescription. There is no limit on the number of contacts we can buy. This office forces you to order through them and pick up at their office and you can only buy what they say is a year’s supply then they will decline you any more until you come back in and pay another $200 office visit. They will also charge you a fitting fee every time which is also illegal. I have tried ordering through 1800 contacts twice and they declined to give out my prescription both times. Finally I figured out what was happening. I called to let them know they have lost my business and I am reporting them to the FTC.

Be prepared to wait!

If you have an appointment for a certain time, expect it to be at least an hour later. Nice staff but ridiculously long waits- they don't seem to think your time is valuable.

My family and I have been patients of Frisco Eye for several years now. I usually dread going to any doctor's office but they are always so warm and welcoming. I've seen almost all of the doctors and haven't had any complaints. The staff is always very courteous and understanding of my families needs. I continue to refer friends and family to your office. Keep up the good work!!

I give them one star only because Dr. Marsh was great. Unfortunately from my experience they should completely clean house and start over with staff that has a clue to what they are doing. I'll give them benefit of the doubt on our appt being delayed because of other doctors being out for emergencies but I reached my limit today when trying to order my contacts and will never go back to this office ever again. I called to have my contact prescription faxed to walmart to order contacts. The first time they faxed completely the wrong prescription. I'm not sure who's prescription they sent with my name on it but it wasn't mine. Luckily the walmart employee noticed how different it was from my glasses prescription and had me call back to check. After first starting out very rude saying "well I read you the prescription over the phone and you said it sounded correct" (as if im an eye expert and was supposed to have it memorized exactly what it was) she realized she was incorrect and had given me the wrong prescription. She faxed over a corrected copy...Unfortunately it wasn't over. The new prescription listed a base curve for my left eye that is not even made so I had to call back again, have it corrected, and a new prescription faxed over once again. So 3 prescriptions later I finally had my correct contact prescription. Thank goodness for a great walmart employee who was catching all these mistakes being made by inadequately minded people. I would have been beyond furious if I had ordered the wrong prescription with my insurance and had bought incorrect contacts. Luckily that didn't happen but that atleast lost 2 customers (myself and my wife) and if the wonderful walmart employee ever gets asked she now has a horrible opinion of this doctors practice. She was very disturbed they could be having this much trouble faxing over a patients correct eye prescription.

So long Frisco Eye Associates...I'll let you mess up other peoples prescriptions but not mine anymore.

I was shocked to see that Frisco Eye Associates had such a low rating, and like the others who commented positively, I wanted to give them excellent feedback. I believe I started using them in about 2003 or 2004, so I am also a long-time patient.

I have had some rare problems with my eyes over the years and have seen at least 10 ophthalmologists/optometrists in the last 20 years. My retina specialist recommended this practice to me when I moved to Frisco. This is by far my favorite eye care office.

The doctors I've seen (Garza and Biederman) have been extremely thorough with my eye exams and checking my retina; Dr. Garza was able to get me back in contacts after 10 years of my eyes supposedly being too dry for them, and Dr. Biederman has been able to keep me in single vision contacts in my late 40s by reducing the distance prescription slightly. At my age, it is so nice to be able to still read a computer screen and my iPhone without pulling out reading glasses or going into bifocals! (Well, yet).

I have also purchased eyeglasses at this office once and have been very happy with them. They were pricey, but given my dependence on glasses/contacts, I don't mind spending $300 or so on them. Due to past retina problems in one eye, my vision varies greatly between my eyes, and other (cheaper and faster) chain stores have never made the lenses exactly to past doctors' prescriptions.

For me, the excellent eye care provided well outweighs the higher cost than a place like Wal-Mart.

I recommend this office to all my friends.

After reading the negative rem...

After reading the negative remarks here, I felt that I needed to write a very long over-due review!

Along with the only other positive review, I also have been a patient at this office for over 8 years! Actually, probably closer to 10 years. And, I most definitely would recommend this office to any and all of my friends/family (and have done so numerous times!).

As with all professional service offices, there have been times when I felt the front office staff could have been more "friendly", however, who among us has not had a 'bad' day? That being said, I can honestly state that those experiences were very few and far between and said individuals are no longer there. This same scenario also applies to phone conversations.........and, as I do in my job, if I am unhappy with such a conversation, I call again later and ask to speak directly with a Supervisor, Doctor, etc. There are ways to handle these type of issues and also apply to any problems encountered regarding any type of product.......with courtesy and diplomacy.

For my own experiences, I couldn't say enough great things about this business. The doctors are kind and caring and do go the extra mile. They are most thorough in their exams and follow-ups to ensure that I am totally satisfied with their services and product.

I would also like to add that I have never experienced any pressure to spend more than I could afford.........or desired! If this happened, I would address it directly with the doctor for a resolution.

I am so thankful for the care given to me and my family by Frisco Eye Associates and hope they will remain in business for years to come!

I have been a patient here for...

I have been a patient here for the last 8 years and I keep coming back! The doctors are the BEST in the business and the optical staff is helpful and knowledgeble! I have been wearing glasses for most of my life, while it is never easy to be separted from my hard earned money, this office cares about getting me into the glasses that are going to look the best on me and have all the basics that my prescription requires. ( thin lenses - for my high correction/ anti-glare - for my night driving clarity). I have struggled with other offices in the past who just throw the cheapest quality materials at me and then do not back them up with any type of service or warranty. At almost 2 years into wearing my last pair of glasses, I brought them in for an adjustment and they noticed the scratch...they insisted on processing a warranty claim and I got a new set of lenses! EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY PROVE IT!

I took my daughter for her wel...

I took my daughter for her well exam and was told she may need glasses. Her doctor recommended Frisco Eye. I called and whoever answer the phone was very rude and seem to be in a hurry to get me off the phone. I asked for prices since it's been a while I have been to an eye doctor. Price was reasonable but when I asked what it include she told me; the exam and a prescription for glasses and rushed through additional information ending with additional charges for contacts. When I told her I didn't need contacts for my 6 yr daughter -- she said, no you wouldn't. Well I didn't need her to tell I could figure that one out on my own. So then I asked if she could get me in this weekend and said that if I didn't know anyone or had a family member previously seen in office I would have to wait 2 weeks. Again, she rushed through her sentence and said she would open a chart for her so I told I would call back and she said ok and disconnected the call. I will definitely have to let my daughter's pediatrician know not to recommend this doctor.

Arrogance runs high

The staff was very friendly on the first visit. I was upsold on the eye tests. Then I was upsold into a different type of lense and more expensive frame, based on the lens being an everyday vs. a reading. I was told that if I did not like the suggested / upsold glasses I could bring them back and they would prepare for me the readers that I came in for.

When I called them to redo, there was a "re-stocking" fee of $40 that was never disclosed. When I shared with Sarah that this was never discussed , she suggested that I speak with the Dr. He was a different person than when he upsold me. I was shocked at his indifference to my satisfaction to the lack of disclosure.

I requested that they just make them single vision, and the Rx was missed on that as well. This issue has not been resolved and I will NEVER do business with this arrogant / "bait and switch " provider again.

I am truly amazed that these guys are in business, and will make sure that I tell everyone I know to beware of the arrogance and indifference to my needs and concerns, let alone the non-disclosure of their fees.

It has been over 6 weeks since I paid almost $350.00 (after insurance) and still do not have useable glasses.

Good Doctor but beware the bait and switch

Over the summer we had been given advanced noticed that my company was closing. This gave us plenty of time to take care of doctor, dental appts, etc. My company was closing, therefore our insurance would not provide Cobra. The doctor was great, very thorough. I didn't need glasses but my husband chose to replace only the lenses in his glasses to save money. I called and explained my situation. I was transferred to a gentleman who checked our vision plan and assured me that it would only cost $100. He even said his prescription was similar and he knew for sure that even with the thin lense it would still only be $100. I thought that was great. Why check Costco when I can go to our doctor for $100. Imagine my surprise when my husband came home to tell me they cost 320 dollars!!!! I was floored. Not only that but it took almost 2 weeks to get them back and now I'm getting a bill saying I owe another 32 bucks. Never again will I do business here. Thanks for hitting us when times were about to get tough.

Overcharged and Underserviced

We normally do not do this but the situation with FEA requires it. FEA was recommended by a friend but we will not return. My wife's glasses were delayed upwards of two weeks as the initial lenses were scratched when cut and then a broken frame delayed them further. The scratch is understandable but the broken frame was discovered on her second attempt into this office, by her. Didn't somebody assemble these? Couldn't somebody have called? Then the contact lense situation. You are quoted $129 for a contact lense checkup (yes, a contact lense checkup quote was asked for, not a basic eyeglass checkup) but you are charged an additional $89.00 "because this level of service is required by the state of Texas". When questioned about the original quote, the response was basically that all customers get charged this amount. In other words they would not attempt to correct their mistake. Wow. If any other retail operation offered this type of service, they would soon be gone.
