Founded in 1978, Social Vocational Services is a private, nonprofit service agency that provides supportive services for people suffering from developmental disabilities. It serves more than 3,500 individuals in a variety of work-oriented, skill building, community access and residential support services in California. The agency provides social, recreational, vocational and residential training and support services. Social Vocational Services also offers online job search assistance services. Its services include specialized behavioral support, facility-based activities and paid work oppurtunities. Additionally, the agency conducts several programs and maintains activity-based clubs. Social Vocational Services employs a staff of program administrative assistants, direct service professionals and personal support specialists. The agency is certified by the California Department of Rehabilitation and is accredited by the Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission and maintains a location in Fresno, Calif.
