Jefferson Elementary School, located in Fresno, Calif., is governed by the Fresno Unified School District, which is one of the largest school districts in California. The district serves more than 79,000 students in approximately 80 schools. The school has an enrollment of over 550 students in kindergarten through grade six. It maintains various school organizations that include a school site council, parent-teacher association and English language acquisition committee. The school has partnerships with the Jefferson Area Neighborhood Association, H&E Nursery and The Fresno Downtown Rotary Club. Jefferson Elementary School has a staff of nearly 30 full-time certified teachers that teaches a variety of subjects, such as reading, language arts, mathematics, science, foreign languages, history, social studies, and health and physical education.
