Reviews
I was referred to Advanced Derm by a Xtrac rep to treat vitiligo on my hands. Xtrac is a new laser treatment and I was told by Xtrac reps and the AD doctors that a 5-month treatment would restore the pigment to my hands. The problems started first with the PCP referrals. My PCP sent the referral four times and finally we found the referral sitting on their fax machine. Second, the front office at the Fresh Meadows never informed that I needed to renew my referral visits and ask me to have my PCP back-date the referral. After 5 months of treatment, the techs told me I would need another 6 months of treatment because my skin was being difficult. Really? After 40 visits, burnt hands and paying out about $12,000 in insurance, I had enough. Laser or Xtrac treatments do not work for vitiligo on your hands, yet the doctors and the Xtrac radios ads all claim otherwise.
Your front desk staff are beyond rude. They lack knowledge of the services you offer and have no urge to find you an answer. They'll shrug you off or tell you "I don't know" and expect you to take it.
Your location is prime real estate. You are a business and customer service is a must. As a business, the front desk is the most important part of your overall experience and coming to the 188th street location is extremely unpleasant.
The front desk is where you get all your basic needs cover and from the moment you walk in it feels like your being an inconvenience to them. No greeting, no "how can I help you," no guidance and if you approach them you're greeted to smart remarks or eye rolls. As a patient I don't need to tolerate such attitude on my free time. You're there to work.
Please don't let long time patients have to go through this unpleasant experience again. Please make the proper adjustments or train your staff properly and get this office act together.
I saw Dr. Applebaum recently for some Botox and I loved the treatment. He was very professional and my appointment was merely a 20 minute wait. He discussed many options of rejuvenation that were affordable to me, and now I am scheduled to have Ulthera with him before the holidays. He wasn't pushy at all, on the contrary, I was the one who considered other options after reading the brochures in the room.
I read some of the negative reviews about this office, and I am glad that I made my own decision. Although it seems like a busy office, it was worth the wait to see him.
Dr. Fox is one of the most caring, knowledgeable doctors I've ever been to. I went to him for a medical concern which he treated rather quickly, thanks to his expertise. I was so satisfied with his level of care that I went back a few months later for cosmetic treatments as well.
Whether for medical or cosmetic purposes, Dr. Fox is the go-to dermatologist.
I've been a patient of Dr. Friedler's since 2009. She's very attentive, answers my many questions (I never feel rushed), and demonstrates the highest degree of professionalism and courtesy. From full body checks for the threat of Melanoma to Restylane and Dysport treatments, I always leave feeling informed, reassured, and cared for. What a difference with the treatments-I am defying gravity! You will truly look amazing!! The office hours are accomodating since I work 45 min away from her Queens location. Her office manager/cosmetic consultant, Debbie, is a wiz - she leaves no stone unturned! The staff is courteous and profesional as well. I've never waited more than 15-30 min to be seen. When I leave Dr. Friedler and her staff I look and feel marvelous about myself!
Thanks, L.C.F.
Doctor Fox is a great doctor. He takes time to explain what my concerns are and makes me feel comfortable about my options.
