He completed his residency in medicine and fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Minnesota and his transplant hepatology fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. - UltrasoundTreatment typically includes the correction of biomechanical deficits through detailed and focused physical therapy, possible short courses of pain medications, and various types of injection procedures. He performs traditional injections that historically have involved steroids to help with inflammation, and also has an interest in more novel growth factor injections that use the body’s own growth factors to help heal various injuries. In addition, Dr. Goldin is trained in electrodiagnostics and musculoskeletal ultrasound. He can use these when appropriate in order to make a diagnosis and determine appropriate treatment.
- MRIGenerally, patients with neurological problems such as concussions, headaches, or numbness are good candidates for a neurologist’s care. Other symptoms you may notice include memory problems, muscle weakness, tremors, or difficulty communicating. These symptoms may indicate a brain or nervous system problem, which your neurologist can diagnose through a several evaluations. Your physician will examine your sensory function, balance, coordination, gait, eye control, language comprehension, and other neurological skills. - Computed TomographyThe Outpatient Imaging Center is home to a 64-slice computed tomography (CT) scanner. This equipment creates 64 high-resolution anatomical images per rotation. This decreases scan times to several seconds which allows almost all patients to be scanned in high resolution. The slices are as thin as a credit card and support advanced cardiac studies, among other applications. These images are combined to form a three-dimensional view of the patient's anatomy, allowing physicians to view such things as blockages in the coronary arteries, as well as the motion and pumping action of a patient's heart.
