Founded in 1925, General Casualty is a property and casualty insurance provider. It operates through the independent agency system and offers a complete line of property and casualty insurance products for homes, vehicles and businesses. Over 1,500 independent insurance agencies market General Casualty products in more than 20 states. It is owned and operated by QBE Regional Insurance, which also owns Unigard. General Casualty offers a nonstandard auto policy, homeowner packages, business insurance to cover employment practices liability, upgraded small business operator programs and specialty packages for niche markets, such as golf courses, contractors, restaurants, metal shops and automobile dealerships. Headquartered in Sun Prairie, Wis., General Casualty has one of its locations in Freeport, Ill.
