After calling 3 other companies Mr.Black came to my house found the problem and reoaired it. The cost was minimal. I actually told him he wasn't charging enough. I own a small business and know some of the expenses. Ascending Dove has done work for 3 of my friends and they were equally as pleased. There may be some bad reviews but most people don't take the time to write when they are pleased. I say give them a chance and find out for yourself. J.T.

Having a problem with a water heater? Please be careful using Ascending Dove. Had to replace a water heater and after that was done getting them back to complete the repair was a complete pain in the backside. Repeatedly, several times, making appointments and taking time off work to get it finished but the plumber has been a no call no show. Even the staff in the office rarely answer the phone during business hours and even after leaving a message, as requested, can not seem to return a call. There is a lack of professional courtesy and inability to get work done as promised. I would not recommend this company to do any work whatsoever.

If I could give this company zero stars I would. Please do NOT use this company!! The health of not only myself and my husband was at risk but so was my 4 month old child's. They were contracted through my home warrenty company to replace my hot water heater. Less then an hour after it was replaced my house smelled like gas. We called the company and they sent the tech back out who stated it was oil burning off the water heater and it would go away that it was NOT gas. So even though I smelled it off and on the next few weeks I didn't worry about it since I was told it was ok. I grew concerned when after a month it didn't go away. Long story short there were multiple gas leaks in the hot water heater, plus per the gas company stuff was done installed incorrectly by this company. I was told we were lucky no one was ill or killed by this. I was upset and shocked to find out my health and my child's health could have been at risk because of this company.

Ascending Dove Service and Repair is currently working on my home on a complete renovation of the houses exterior; as well as, a deck and fence. Working with the people at this company has been such a pleasure thus far. Mr. Black and all of his employees that I have dealt with are very knowledgeable and personable. I would highly recommend Ascending Dove to anyone that is looking for a company that is fair in price, honest and takes pride in their workmanship.

For many years Brian Black with Ascending Dove, has taken care of all of my heating and aircondition needs. He does a great job for a very fair price. I have recominded him many times to my neighbors, family and friends and all of them were completely satisfied with his work.

They said they would return either Friday or Saturday and no show after multiple phone calls and response saything someone would be there. Called on Monday and was also promised someone would show up and again no show. We finally gave up and called another company to come in and finish the job. If you have an emergency repair like no hot water, don't waste your time.

I would not recommend this company to anyone. After initial repair, unit broke again within 3 weeks. After coming back to look at the unit it took them almost 2 weeks to recontact the HMS warrenty for us despite multiple (10) phone calls. Use a more reputable company if you have a choice.

In this day and age of bad service, it was a delight to work with Mr. Black and his personnell. Mr. Black seems to be in high demand due to his expertise, service and fair prices. Sometimes he has to reschedule an appointment but that is because he believes in giving EVERYONE the appropriate time needed to fix their problem. Mr. Black is personable, knowledgable and a pleasure to have in my home.

I have worked with Brian for over a year now after purchasing a fixer upper in Old Town Alexandria. I have hired Brian to do multiple jobs, including plumbing and electrical work. Brian is always straightforward and clearly communicates his recommendations. His prices are very reasonable and I've never had any problems with missed appointments. I especially value the personal service that you don't get from larger companies. Highly recommended!

Second appointment - technician didn't know what he was doing and wasted 5.5 hours of my life. Third appointment - technician didn't have the right supplies. Fourth appointment - no show. Fifth appointment - no show. Sixth appointment late and claimed repaired system repaired but did not. Throughout this whole fiasco, I would call the office manager, who was totally unhelpful!!!!!! Her constant refrain, "You got emergency heat don't you." It has been 11 days now since I reported that the heat pump was still not repaired. Initially, I was told it was indeed fixed. Then they grudgingly agreed to come out to my house to recheck the system. I am still waiting 11 days later. So I say again, "Run!! Don't walk! Don't pass go. Avoid at all possible cost." Just do it for your sanity.
