- Wellness Visits: A main focus of our practice! We recommend that all adult pets (ages 1-7 years) receive annual examinations. Preventative Care: Vaccinations, flea and tick control, heartworm testing and prevention, blood test screenings (FeLV, FIV, Lyme Disease) Routine surgeries: Neuter, Spaying, Front DeclawingSoft tissue surgery: Examples of this type of surgery include growth removalAnesthesia: We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients.Dental cleanings and care: Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, tooh extractions and minor oral surgery. Fully stocked pharmacy: We maintain a complete inventory of medications, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm prevention. Microchipping: We offer the Home Again Microchip identification system. We can also scan a pet for a microchip with our state of the art microchip reader. Puppy and kitten consultations: Longer appointment times are scheduled for new puppies and kittens. There are many topics to cover to ensure your new addition receives the best care possible. Please feel free to come with a list of questions! Senior Pet health evaluations: CVC recommends that all adult pets receive annual examinations and that senior pets receive a thorough physical examination every six to 12 months. We recommend annual blood work (CBC, chemistry profile and thyroid function tests), urinalysis, and fecal examination. These tests will enable us to detect changes that indicate a disease is present and may allow us to slow or stop its progression. Radiology (X-rays): Our on-site, modern X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders. Xray can be taken to the farm for evaluation of horses too!OFA Certification (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals): The OFA evaluates the risk in breeding animals that they carry genetic disease that can be passed to their offspring such as hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, eye diseases, etc. More information can be obtained at their website: www.offa.org Grooming services: Nail trims, ear cleaning, gland expressing, cat bathing and full body clips
