Bobby is a very good mechanic - great person - good heart and will do you right
After reading some of the negative reviews about "Bobby's Automotive" I have this to add... I used him years ago [under the direction of Rhea Little as well ] , Bobby and his team did an exceptional job for me at a reasonable rate , and I plan on using him again .Perry Schwartz

I really wanted to like Bobby's Automotive He was recommended by Rhea Little. Bobby kept my car just under a month (and cost me a rental car for 26 days) and charged me $4,000, the worst case scenario quote ceiling (up from $2,900). He was utterly non communicative - he called me twice in 26 days. I had to call him over two dozen times to be told of endless delays. The car has the same symptoms it did when I gave it to him - just out of the one year warranty period, and it makes a ticking/knocking noise, lacks umph, and loses about 2 quarts of oil every 3,000 miles. Gateway has at least found the source of the oil leak - the old cork gasket Bobby used instead of a standard silicone one. The part costs $30, the labor to replace it $400. Gave it back to Bobby twice to fix - he did essentially nothing. So - $430 rental car + $3,990 repair + ~$3,000 in lost time and hourly wages trying to get him to make it right. I made a $7500 mistake using Bobby's Automotive. Don't be me.

Worst experience I've ever had with any auto shop. Poor communication, multiple delays without any real explanation, and work which was, in a number of cases, unnecessary and of poor quality. I've had much more work done since in less time and for less money from another mechanic, who many times was addressing work Bobby's had done poorly. I literally threw away THOUSANDS at Bobby's, with a number of "repairs" lasting just outside of warranty. I was able to appreciate my next mechanic much more as a result, but it was a very difficult lesson to learn, and I'd hate for anyone else to have to learn the same way. It's a shame, because I genuinely liked the owner, Bobby, as a person, but it makes me sick to think of what my follow-up mechanic could have done with all the money I wasted at Bobby's.
