The Fort Worth Police Department offers community-oriented police services. It operates bureaus, such as North/West Field Operations, South/East Field Operations, Operational Support and Administrative Service. The department is equipped with a teletype machine and communication systems and also operates a crime laboratory. The Fort Worth Police Department also maintains narcotics, reserve, traffic and graffiti abatement divisions. Its communication department provides monitoring and dispatching services and operates a trunked radio system. It is a part of the City of Fort Worth, which features parks and community service, law, aviation, housing, environmental, financial management, fire, planning and development, human resources and information technology departments.
