In March 2014 I ordered a CPAP Mask and related headgear. When I received the items an invoice for $654.00 was included. I called and told them until it was paid I was not going to open the sealed packages. In May 2014 I called Apria to see if the bill had been paid. They said Medicare had not paid it yet and not to worry because I also had secondary insurance. On July 28, 2014 I called Apria again for confirmation that Medicare and the other insurance had paid. Apria told me that Medicare had refused the claim because Apria had made a mistake. Apria is correcting their error and will resubmit. The items are still in their sealed packages. I was told today that even if Medicare does not pay, I cannot return the merchandise since Apria has a STRICT 30 day return policy. I was told by two different Apria employees that Medicare usually takes from a month to six weeks to process claims, which prevents returning the unopened mask for credit. This service is unacceptable.
