Based in Fort Wayne, Ind., Martin Luther King Montessori School specializes in providing preschool programs for three to six years children. Established in 1968, it is a National Education for the Association of Young Children accredited school serving more than 5,000 children. The school offers Montessori methods of teaching and learning that includes different areas, such as practical life/everyday living, sensorial, language, math, and geography/science. It also has affiliation with the American Montessori Society, a professional organization that monitors the character and quality of Montessori education. Martin Luther King Montessori School has partnerships with YMCA, Community Action of Northeast Indiana (CANI), Community Harvest Food Bank, United Way and Foellinger Foundation, among others.
