About Imagine SchoolsImagine Schools Imagine Schools is an organization founded by Dennis and Eileen Bakke. The Bakke's aim to produce change in public education by putting power in the hands of principals and teachers. By giving decision-making power to those closest to the action, teachers and staff are given the flexibility to best meet the unique needs of each student. The Bakke's aspire to provide students with a challenging, effective program of study and strong moral development in a safe, nurturing environment.Who is Imagine Schoolso Imagine Schools is a national family of public charter schools that empowers educators in partnership with parents to prepare students for lives of leadership, accomplishment, and character.o Imagine Schools operates 72 schools in 12 states and the District of Columbia. We love that our students are from diverse backgrounds. Nationally, 60% of Imagine students are eligible for the free/reduced lunch program. Two-thirds are from minority populations.o Imagine is basically a multi-state "school district" educating 37, 000 students, which is similar to the size of the Minneapolis or Buffalo school districts.
