KHBS is a television station in Fort Smith, Ark. It broadcasts on channel 40 as a local affiliate of the American Broadcasting Company. The television station is a part of Hearst-Argyle Television, which is an independent television station group. The company owns more than 25 television stations in the United States. Hearst-Argyle Television owns two Columbia Broadcasting System-affiliated television stations and one MyNetworkTV station. It also manages one independent station for The Hearst Corporation and one continuous wave station. Hearst-Argyle Television is engaged in the convergence of local broadcast television and the Internet.
