      Our programs are diverse, challenging and rewarding. We offer over 20 adult and kids classes a week with content based on your needs. Whether you are brand new to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or a die-hard competitor, our schedule caters to you. Classes at Great Grappling Brazilian Jiu Jitsu are structured and taught using sound teaching principles and delivered by qualified professionals. Our goals vary depending on the needs of our student but at a minimum, each student will be instructed in self defense and gain the ability to protect themselves in real world altercations.Because Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is so different than any other martial art we highly recommend taking advantage of a free one week trial! Great Grappling Brazilian Jiu Jitsu was opened in April 2011 by Black Belt instructor Jeremy Arel. GGBJJ represents the culmination of nearly 8 years of full time training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and 25 years of martial arts training. Jeremy made a commitment in the spring of 2009 to achieve his black belt and open his own academy. To reach this goal he moved to Rio de Janeiro for 6 months to train under Professor Roberto "Gordo" Correa. After achieving his Brown belt and returning to Charlotte for 6 months, he once again departed for Rio de Janeiro and earned his Black Belt in December 2010. Great Grappling Brazilian Jiu Jitsu truly represents the life work and dedication of Jeremy to the sport of BJJ and to martial arts.
