Pizza was the best I've had in South Jersey. Ingredients are fresh, great selection of choices. The owners are warm-hearted individuals. I go every week at least twice!
I have been here 3 times and noticed I had to initiate all convesation. This, the 3rd visit, I decided to see what would happen if I didn't say anything. I walked in and the 4 people standing behind the counter stand there and no one says a word. One adjusts the TV while 2 ohters ingage in idle conversation; the 4th has a dull-normal look and is staring at the floor. The 2 talking see me standing there but continue their conversation about their nails, boyfriends, etc. I stood there an uncomfortable 3 minutes and no one said a word to me. Finally approaching 4 minutes one of the 4 (I assume the owner) said "what do you need?" I reply "I am here to pick up my phone order - a whatever pie". He slides the boxed pie onto the counter, doesn't say a word. I stood there and after another full minute his counter girl breaks from conversation with another and mumbles "sixteen something". I slide a $20 and she handles the transaction, throwing the change on the counter. Not a thank you, not a see you later; nothing. That was my 3rd attempt at Vesuvio. 1st was good, 2nd and 3rd burned. It is not so much the food but the attitude or lack thereof. Having just moved to the area I hope this is not typical and I will try one of the 20 other pizza vendors. Shear ignorance here.
