General Info
Welcome to the teaching studio of Bruce Nolden! Bruce Nolden has lived with his wife and children in Forest Lake for 24 years. He is the father of 4 girls. Mr. Nolden has a degree in piano performance from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota and a Master's degree in piano pedagogy from Saint Cloud State University. He is an active member of the Music Teacher National Association and Minnesota Music Teachers Association. He has been teaching piano in the Forest Lake Area for over 20 years and also works at St. Peter's Catholic Church as the assistant music director. Mr. Nolden's teaching approach emphasizes traditional, classical music and incorporates improvisation, transposition, learning by ear, and music theory at every level with the goal of creating lifelong musicians. The goal is to help your child become a life-long musician at whatever level they desire; from one who plays for their own enjoyment at home to a concert musician and all points in between. The study of piano has many facets. It requires discipline, concentration, persistence, focus, time management, and problem solving. It also provides enjoyment for the performer as well as the listener. Playing the piano provides an opportunity to play your favorite songs or to recreate the world's greatest works of musical art. The study of music helps student's emotional stability in addition to improving success rates in nearly every other area of study.
