After visiting several schools, my husband and I decided on the Corner School. The warmth of the teachers and principal put my daughter at ease right away, and as she is quite shy this was no small feat! After two years my daughter has blossomed into a confident little girl. Not only did they enhance her social abilities, but they are excellent academically. My daughter took the G&T exam and scored well enough to apply to the program! While I know that my daughter had a lot to do with it, I also know that the teachers at her school played a large part as well. The Corner School is really like a family. I only wish that it was larger so my daughter could continue to go there, but unfortunately she will graduate and go on to Kindergarten next year. I am so happy that she was able to have this wonderful experience with such a caring and talented group of people.

Both my son & daughter attended The Corner School for their nursery and Pre-k programs. We couldn't be happier with our choice. The Corner School is like a home away from home for our children. The classrooms are warm & inviting, filled with evidence of both learning and play. The staff is caring, experienced, educated and committed to providing a successful learning experience for our children. As a parent I have always felt welcomed & encouraged to come in and participate in class activities. My son is flourishing in his kindergarten class because of the foundation provided by The Corner School, and I am confident my daughter will have the same success next year.

Our 4 year old is currently enrolled- all day, 5 days a week 9am-4pm. The teachers are expert, the environment is wonderful, and the facility delightful. My daughter and son both attended the Corner School from 2008 until this past June, 2012. My wife and I searched extensively for a quality pre-school program in the North Flushing area before coming across this great program. The nursery and pre-k programs prepared them well for kindergarten and they made many great friends along the way. The teachers and instructors have many years of experience and take seriously the task of caring for the children. The Corner School is also exceptional because the school is a cooperative and parents have a significant say in how the program is run.

Being an elementary school teacher for many years, I knew what I was looking for when it came to choosing a nursery/pre-kindergarten school for my children. The Corner School had everything I was looking for. The classroom learning environment is warm, inviting, and vibrant. The staff are dedicated, experienced teachers who are also friendly, caring and patient. As a parent I am always welcome to visit my sons class and have been invited to do so several times. The children are encouraged to learn through self exploration and play. Routines and a structured flow of the day are also evidently in place. My son comes home everyday sharing new ideas and facts that he has learned in school. Sometimes I am truly amazed at the knowledge he has acquired from school. As a parent, there is no better feeling then seeing your child genuinely happy and excited to go to school each day. I highly recommend the corner school to any parent looking for the best education, along with a safe and nurturing learning environment for their child.

I scoured all of the local neigborhoods to find the best nursery and pre-k school for my children. After visiting around twenty schools, it became very clear to me that The Corner School and its experienced, wise and loving staff are by far, hands down, the best around. My daughter comes home every day singing a new song or showing off a new craft. Her favorite pastime is to read stories to her class and role-play as her teacher, a true role model. The educators are exemplary, and the director is committed to the school beyond measure. Parents are also welcomed to take an active role in the monthly board meetings. I can't say enough about this time-honored, non-profit, community-driven organization. If you are a parent looking for a rich experience for your child at an affordable rate, look no further. And maybe we'll meet at the next pta meeting?

The Corner School has exceeded our expectations in every way. After checking out about 16 pre-schools before choosing where to send our daughter, I am so happy we found the perfect place. The school runs very smoothly, in part because it is small. The teachers and director are the most wonderful part. They are experienced, warm and professional, and provide a lot of individual attention to each child. We also love the seasonal activities, stimulating projects, and arts and crafts in the school. Our daughter has been lucky her life has been enriched greatly by the corner school experience!

As a child I attended this school 25 years ago & now as a mother there is no other place I would bring my child! When I was a child I made my mother walk me to school during a blizzard because i did not want to miss a day & now my son is the same way. Just spending a little time in the classroom & its no wonder why my son loves his school so much! The school & staff is warm, welcoming, and nurturing. They understand & respect all children's' abilities & help to develop them as a whole individual. You won't find the drill & kill method of memorizing meaningless information; instead you will find children exploring their world through play. I am a stay-at-home mom, who has my masters in early childhood education & the corner school classroom, staff, & program is developmental appropriate for they children they service. My only regret is that they don't have more grade levels.....who would want to go to the big school when we are soooo comfy in the little neighborhood school house!

My daughter and I really love the school; it is bright and a very exciting place for children; they can play in the kitchen or with blocks, write in the writing center, create works of art, work on a puzzle; they read books in circle time, talk about the weather and days of the week, and have a snack as a family every day. My daughter does not want to leave the school, and she told me that many of her classmates also wish there was a Kindergarten at the school; what a great beginning, where kids can be exposed to the school atmosphere, but where they can still be kids and have loads of fun! Very nurturing; very cozy.

The atmosphere at the school is nurturing, supportive and inviting. Both of my children were excited to go to school everyday and often did not want to leave at the end of the day!

My husband & I must have visited 8 different pre-schools with my son before we decided on The Corner School. It was a great decision! All the staff really loved the kids, were very patient, soft-spoken and challenged them educationally. The teachers treated every young student as a valued individual and helped the students learn all the necessary skills for their age. THANK YOU CORNER SCHOOL!!!!

I volunteered at this place during the summer time and it is very organized, and all the children there seemed very pleased to be there . They were behaving good, they had fun, and the staff was very very kind and Great.
