      Walked in with a backwoods GT bike that needed to have a shimano shifter repaired. The person tried shifting gears a few times and said that the whole unit needed to be replaced because it wasn't doing anything, that it could not be repaired, and wanted to charge $100.00 with installation for a pair of new shimano shifters, any new cables also extra. Said no thank you because I have had them repaired before, therefore I knew better. Went to Laurelton Bicycle off merrick rd and for 1/2 the price they repaired the shifter, changed all of my cables, and adjusted both shifters. I couldn't find them here on yellow pages, so here is there info <<Laurelton Bicycle & Carriage - (718) 528-6886 - 23220 Merrick Blvd Jamaica, NY 11413>> very reasonable.

Many times a bicycle will need adjustments after the initial 30 hours of riding; bearing cups settle into position and cables will stretch, all these adjustments and more are covered under our 1 year guarantee at no cost to the customer. Anything ever feels out of adjustment, just bring it in and we’ll take care of it. We at Robert’s Bicycles hope to make your cycling experience a pleasant one.
