A cozy little local countertop favorite that's easy to get to by train or bus, located in the heart of the Main St. Flushing transportation and shopping hub. Their tomato sauce is just right - not too sweet or too tart, and just the right consistency, their cheese is good and their pizza dough is well-balanced - not too dry or too heavy. They are in a heavily trafficked area, so their pizza is always fresh because it does not sit out for long. Seating and counter space is limited, which adds to the charm of everybody clamoring for a slice of their regular and sicilian. Expect to stand and be pleasantly rewarded if a stool becomes available. Worth the commute if you're not too far away because there's lots of shopping in the area, including a Macy's right across the street and a new mall a few blocks away.

I grew up in NY all my life and eaten at a tons of pizza places, let me say this - NOTHING - let me say that again - NOTHING comes close to Lucia's Pizza in NY.
I grew up with this pizza place and even though I've lived in LA for over 9 years, when i visit my parents a couple of times a year, I go have a slice of pizza and EVERYONE who works there remembers me, is always SOO friendly and well, the pizza is still DIVINE!!!

Lucia's Pizza is in Flushing for over 30 years, I can?t leave Flushing Main Street, 136-55 Roosevelt Avenue without eating 2 reg. slices, 1 at a time so it?s perfectly heated. The crust is thin and crispy to perfection; the sauce is addicting- you will dream about it after tasting & the cheese is perfectly proportioned. I like to sprinkle a little oregano on it when it comes right out of oven (because if put on while cooking-that causes heartburn). Customers are welcome to purchase the makings of their fabulous pizza ingredients to try to make it at home (kudos if you can create it to their astonishing perfection??you never know??).
Lucia's is a storefront with only 5 old red stools at one counter; very old painted white moldings on the wall which you will look at while seated on the stool, encumbered by old colorful drawn poster maps of Flushing landmarks, i.e. Louie Armstrong' s home, Queens College, & famous people's dwellings. There are no waiters, don't need them...just spin around on your stool & order another slice. If you are in terrible rush, shopping, waiting for a bus, or going on the #7 subway, you can always eat at the open window service, ices are also offered. There are VERY few other dishes on the menu wall, hero?s, ziti with whatever you want, but not as good as their extraordinary Pizza! Cravings will definitely be in your stars after trying Lucia's Pizza. VERY, Very unfortunately they do not deliver unless you live close to the Storefront. You can always call them and ask if your order is large. No beer or wine is offered. It?s all about the Pizza!
Believe me on this one. I pride myself on being a Pizza aficionado, I love great food and without a doubt great pizza! After tasting Lucia?s pizza, you will never leave Flushing Main Street again without devouring at least two slices! You will dream about this extraordinary pleasure!

I HAVE BEEN EATING AT LUCIA PIZZA FOR AT LEAST 10 YEARS AND IT IS DEFINITELY THE BEST PIZZA I HAVE EVER EATEN (I AM 47 YEARS OLD AND HAVE EATEN A LOT OF PIZZA IN MY LIFE!) ALTHOUGH IT IS A SMALL SPACE, IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE. THE TURNOVER IS SO GREAT, THAT YOU CAN ACTUALLY GO IN AT 1 PM, ORDER A LARGE PIE, AND BE OUT THE DOOR AT 1:05! BECAUSE OF THE TURNOVER, THERE IS ALWAYS A FRESH SLICE WAITING FOR YOU AT LUCIA PIZZA!

This is not a place to sit down and relax, but this is THE place for delicious pizza served lightening fast. I'm very picky about pizza, and while the pizza is a bit messy to eat, the taste and texture more than make up for it. The place has been there for over 30 years in a neighborhood where places go out of business ever other month. I've been going there for over 7 years and will continue to do so.

i have been going to this place since i was 5 years old. it's a flushing cornerstone! They put just the right amount of cheese and sauce to make it worthwhile. The place is a very small, cramped place, and it's likely to be crowded at peak times of the day, but it's the best pizza around, great for a quick bite to eat. i've found that nobody can eat just one slice; they have to have another. the people there are so friendly, they don't mind striking up a conversation with you if they're not busy.
