The Lowell School is a nonprofit day school that provides learning opportunities for students between the ages of 5 and 21. Founded in 1968, the school enrolls students with learning disabilities and health and speech impairments. Its academic curriculum includes reading, math and science. The school offers a range of college preparatory and vocational consulting services. It provides classes in music, art, computer technology and job development. The Lowell School also offers occupational, speech, language and physical therapies. The school additionally organizes various field trips. Its elementary division enrolls more than 90 students in kindergarten through grade eight. The Lowell School maintains an educational institute in Flushing, N.Y.
