The Flossmoor Police Department is a law enforcement agency that prevents crime and works for the protection of residents lives and properties. It investigates criminal matters and enforces state, local and traffic laws. The department maintains a staff of more than 30 employees, including sergeants and patrol and community service officers, as well as a police chief. The Flossmoor Police Department supports the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program, which is an educational program that helps to prevent the usage of illegal drugs. It operates a dispatch center that responds to emergency and nonemergency calls. The department also maintains a citizen's police academy that offers educational programs in various areas related to law enforcement. The Flossmoor Police Department is located in Flossmoor, Ill.
