Geoff, the proprietor of the Neighborhood Telephone Man, was a real find after our inside wiring shorted out one of our two lines. Since we now have Cablevision for our phone rather than Verizon, I didn't know who to call to fix it. Long story short, Geoff came over, has all the ladders and tools and equipment to do the job. He isolated the problem, replaced a section of wire, and got us back in business. Two weeks later, the second line still works perfectly. It had been static-filled on and off for years, and now it's crystal-clear. Geoff said he used to work for Verizon in Manhattan; he has many years of experience, and it shows. He also has a calm, warm, nice demeanor and makes a professional appearance, so he's someone you would welcome in your home, just like the Telephone Man used to be when I was growing up. His prices were suprisingly-reasonable. Just a good guy who did a very nice job for us.
