Water Distribution and Sewer Maintenance Divisions is a part of the Department of Utilities and is operated by a water service center. It provides removal services for sewages to water pollution control facility. The division offers repair services for water, sanitary and storm sewer lines. Water Distribution and Sewer Maintenance Divisions maintains a more than 350-mile storm sewer and over 1,500-mile sewer lines. It has a staff of personnel who offer meter reading services. The division provides guidelines for the uses of gutters and catch basins. It is a part of the City of Flint, which features planning and zoning, information technology, labor relation, parks and recreation, payroll, purchase, police and human resources departments.
