Recently we were traveling from Benson, AZ to Boise, ID, pulling our travel trailer. First night out our air conditioner quite cooling. A mobile RV repairman gave us the bad news, the AC unit needed replaced. We called Campingb World Flagstaff and Will and Eddie made arrangements for the unit to be replaced the next day. EXCELLENT customer service!! We appreciated how they worked us into their VERY busy schedule. They are certainly a FIVE STAR business.

THANKS AGAIN. Ben/Jan

Long story, but here goes . . .

We live in California and bought a used travel trailer from Camping World in Alabama. As part of the purchase, we had it commercially transported to the Camping World in Flagstaff, where we were scheduled to take possession. Camping World locations are supposed to work together on these deals for the benefit of customer service and promoting Camping World business nationwide. Well, if you deal with Flagstaff Camping World, you’re from a different planet!

For 10 days our Alabama Camping World tried to reach the general manager and service manager at Flagstaff. No one at Flagstaff would return the calls to Alabama – remember these are all Camping World people. The Alabama store had to finally call “the third man from the top” of National Camping World. Only then did someone from Flagstaff return a call – even then it continued to take multiple calls for any kind of call back.

We arrived as scheduled at Flagstaff Camping World. We asked for the general manager Bill Coverdale as instructed, who was apparently “in the back”. After waiting about 20 minutes a second person went to find Bill, who was still “busy”. We continued to wait (we were there a total of 4 hours, Bill never did come to see us). We struck up a conversation with one of the service guys named Dave. After about 45 minutes of waiting and since Bill was still a no-show, Dave tracked down the keys to our trailer and gave us a 15 minute walk through before he needed to start his “scheduled” work. We were shown the trailer as it sat when parked the night before by the transport company, and were not provided any ability to hook up power to check things out before departing – 16 travel hours home.

The Alabama Camping World store seemed to be appalled by what happened in Flagstaff. We are told that any customer picking up a trailer in Alabama, regardless of which Camping World it was purchased, would have gotten a full and indepth walk-through and any issues would be resolved then – like the porch light not working (probably a light bulb), tightening the spare tire bracket, help with properly adjusting the weight distribution hitch. And this would be expected at any Camping World. Apparently Flagstaff doesn’t get this concept!

At one point, we moved to the only flat area in the parking lot to set up our hitch/weight distribution system. A Flagstaff employee marched over to us and in a very confrontation tone (pointing with an extended arm directly at me and then my husband), said “who gave you permission to be here – you need to get moving out of here right now!” We weren’t behind any kind of fence or gate, but in an open area near one of the closed service bays, and on the only flat ground in the lot. Granted, we had only seen how to set up the weight distribution system by video so it took us a little bit of time to get it right. But, had the gentleman asked a simple question of how much longer we might be, it would not have been a problem. This gentleman also confessed they were not going to use the area or nearby service bay until after we left.

This exemplified the attitude of the Flagstaff people from the time we arrived – “we didn’t ask for this, it isn’t our deal, get your trailer and move on”.

A side note for Camping World in Dothan Alabama – Joe Holder was totally customer service oriented and always true to his word. I would encourage anyone to look at Dothan Alabama inventory and purchase long distance from Joe – he’s worth it!
