Sandymount Elementary School serves students in kindergarten through grade five. Its academic curriculum includes programs in reading, writing, language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. The school additionally conducts fine arts, vocal music and physical education classes. Sandymount Elementary School offers a counseling program that includes classroom guidance and small group, individual and parent counseling sessions. It has a media center that houses more than 10,000 items, such as books, magazines, videos and professional journals. In addition, it is equipped with over 15 computers for students to learn applications, including Internet access, word processing, Microsoft PowerPoint and video editing. The media center also offers a variety of activities to increase research and critical thinking skills. Sandymount Elementary School is located in Finksburg, Miss., and is a part of Carroll County Public Schools.
