General Info
My name is Michelle Rampone and I founded About You Counseling & Coaching, LLC in Massachusetts in 2009. I relocated to Amelia Island in 2013 to be closer to my family and am a licensed clinical social worker in both Florida and Massachusetts. I graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology in 1997 and earned a Masters in Social Work as a clinical social worker from Columbia University. For more than 16 years, I have had extensive training and experience working with ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Anxiety, Grief, and Adjustment issues due to stress or major life changes. I feel fortunate to have an ability to connect and develop an alliance with teens, especially those who are defiant, disrespectful, who feel entitled or are resistant to counseling or coaching. Working with these challenging clients and the families affected by them, is my true passion. My experience with and dedication to treating ADHD in kids and adults, as well as other emotional or behavior issues, isn't just professional; it's personal: I have ADHD. Untreated until I attended graduate school, I am better able to understand the effect of symptoms from a variety of perspectives and apply that knowledge to the treatment of my clients. My clients feel that because I live it, have struggled with it, understand the thoughts and emotions associated with it, and continue to find new strategies to manage and cope with it, it gives me an advantage in their treatment. My clients have described me as an effective, progressive, hard working, caring, passionate, young at heart, empathetic, accommodating, think outside the box kind of therapist.
