Founded in 1907, Otter Tail Power Company provides electric service to more than 250,000 people located in more than 420 communities in the states of Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota. The company s generating capability is more than 600 megawatts. It burns more than 2.3 million tons of coal annually and utilizes several coal plants, including Big Stone Plant of Milbank, South Dakota; Coyote Station of Beulah, North Dakota; and Hoot Lake Plant of Fergus Falls, Minnesota. In addition, some of the company s electricity is produced through renewable resources, including wind, water and biomass. The company has more than 5,300 miles of transmission lines. Otter Tail Power Company, a division of Otter Tail Corporation, employs more than 660 people. The company is headquartered in Fergus Falls, Minnesota.
