It is hard to obtain information from this system. One example is that I just found out that the middle school offers general 7th and 8th grade math , but also algebra, and 3rd geometry. This is after 2 children have passed through and a third in progress. Apparently, geometry and algebra are only programmed for those kids the staff thinks belongs in those classes. parents in this case were never informed about other options. I remember in the earlier grades when we inquired about a summer math program to excelerate/improve skills, we were told the student(s) did not qualify. There is a disconnect in streaming only a selected group by a staff and making those decisions which ignore parental requests for the service. Is this educational opportunity? Further, when the MS student gets in high school and needs to take higher math, he/she is already behind that group who were chosen to take algebra and geometry in MS. Some of the students have had to double up on math classes.
