I am military and was referred to this clinic for pain management since none exist on post. I sustained combat deployment related injuries and had to request a referral for care. During my first appointment the doctor was really rude. In spite of his attitude, I still continued to see them since I live with excruciating pain daily. I was prescribed morphine and oxycodine within a month period that resulted in a mild allergic reaction according to them. In which I had to walk-in but the intake receptionist were very rude also. Concerned for my health, I cancelled all further care and decided to consult another specialty clinic. Getting a letter to explain my diagnoses or requesting a letter for limitations was very hard to accomplish. The military is not like any other common job. For that reason it has to be spelled out what a person can or cannot do for physicians on post to acknowledge their disabilities. This clinic did nothing for me in either regard. So, please, if your military don't go to them. All they will do is get you addicted to pain pills and then you'll still further injure yourself trying to meet the physical requirements of the military.

I met Dr Gootman for the first time yesterday. The wait was very long, but they were waiting for faxed records. However, I was informed by several other patients that the wait is often between 2 to five hours. The staff, especially the nurses, were very friendly, helpful, kind and compassionate, and my first impression of Dr Gootman was very good. He was personable, direct, clear, helpful and described a treatment that sounds reasonable and I am hopeful will be effective as well. They may just be worth the wait.
