CGB Enterprises provides market strategies to help customers realize the maximum profit the market can deliver at any given time. The company has a long history of innovation and growth dating back to when the company was started in Fayette, Iowa, in l950. It was the first to introduce nitrogen and bulk blend fertilizers to northeast Iowa farmers in the 1950 s, helping them increase yields. In 1969 it built a barge-loading facility on the Mississippi River that opened world markets to their grain. In 1983 it purchased an underground sand mine, located in the river bluffs near Clayton, Iowa, and converted this into a storage system for many bulk products. This facility has received a Federal License to store 9.5 million bushels of grain. The company has expanded its river facility with state-of-the-art grain handling systems that link truck, rail and barge into a seamless, efficient operation.
