Scheels is a more than 20 store operation with stores in seven states, including North Dakota, Iowa, South Dakota, Montana, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Nebraska. Each store provides Scheels customers with a large selection of sports, sports wear and footwear. In addition, the company is an employee-owned private business. Additional products include hunting, fishing, camping and boating equipment as well as skiing, skating and biking goods. The first Scheels All Sports Superstore opened in Grand Forks, N.D. in 1989. The company maintains a store in Fargo, N.D.
