      In December of 2010 he purchased Renier Optometric Clinic from Dr. Gary L. Renier, establishing Hillmer Eye Clinic. Dr. Hillmer is a member of the North Dakota Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, and Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association. He currently serves as the Clinical Director of the North Dakota Special Olympics Lions Clubs International Opening Eyes Program. Locally, he is a member of the Fargo Lions and the Knights of Columbus, and he frequently speaks on the topics of “The Aging Eye” and “Vision and Falling.” Dr. Hillmer resides in north Fargo with his wife, Annika, and their children.
