  We can help you choose the sinks and faucets for your space or you can choose yourself and we will order them for you. We will make your faucets cut-outs at our shop and at the installation we will bring your sinks and faucets, attach your sinks to your countertops, leave your countertop surfaces ready for your plumber. Please do not forget to give 24 hours time to your newly installed countertops to schedule plumber to reconnect plumbing.

• Flooring
  All limestones will acid etch when exposed to acidic foods such as lemons or tomatoes. Most limestones have high absorption ratings and low abrasion resistance ratings. In general, light-colored limestone is difficult to maintain in flooring applications with heavier traffic, gray limestone tends to effloresce in wet areas, and black limestone tends to show more scratching.

  Creative Habitats has a fully – staffed 3000 sqf showroom having over 1,000 samples of marble, granite, porcelain and Ceramic tiles.

  Medallions, Custom Stone Fireplaces, Corner Shelves, Saddles, Shower Seats, wall Niche pieces are also available for order and fabrication. Some of the brands we carry in our showroom are;
• Cabinet Installation
  If you are having new cabinets installed make sure that the cabinet installers know you are using natural stone countertops and specify that your cabinets need to be within 1/8″ of level, and make sure they use a large (six foot or longer) level to check the installation. Make sure they pay extra attention to spans across gaps (dishwashers, ranges, farmhouse sinks etc. ). If the cabinets are not level there will be a large amount of shimming required to get the natural stone level. This will create large unsightly gaps between the cabinets and natural stone that will have to be trimmed out by a carpenter.

  Creative Habitats is not responsible for any plumbing work, such as the disconnection or re-connection of drains, faucets, and other items related to the countertop installation. Plumbing work must be completed prior to the demolition and installation phase. Countertop installers are neither plumbers nor electricians; therefore the homeowner is responsible for the work and should hire a licensed plumber and electrician.

General

• Masonry
  The only maintenance required for soapstone (steatite) is the application of mineral oil to enhance the natural darkening process the stone goes through. Once mineral oil is applied, the stone will turn into a very dark charcoal gray, sometimes black. Often times, varieties of soapstone will keep a hint of green. Steatite (soapstone or soaprock) is virtually heat proof and used in the construction of masonry heaters because of its excellent thermal qualities.
