Immerman, OD, FAAO in Greater Boston Area, Southcoast and Southeastern Massachusetts is an independent optometrist specializing in low vision rehabilitation, evaluation and prescription of special vision aids for macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and other degenerative and congenital retinal conditions and eye diseases.Dr. Immerman is a consultant to 9 private practices located in the greater Boston area, southeastern Massachusetts and South Coast Massachusetts near Rhode Island.He has practiced exclusively low vision since 1982 and is a graduate of the Illinois College of Optometry and a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.He routinely prescribes low vision aids for patients with macular degeneration, Stargardt's Disease, diabetic retinopathy, retinopathy of prematurity, high myopia and retinitis pigmentosa.He makes referrals when appropriate to the Commission for the Blind and refers for low vision occupational therapy as needed.
