I feel the same way about only being a number there. I waited over 3 hours once when I was pregnant and the doctor (Dr. Silver) came into the room for 5 minutes and didn't even look up at me. I tried to ask questions that I had as he walked out of the door and he continued to walk out as he answered. The Maternity Center at Mercy Fairfield, however was amazing. But, I would say, if you have the choice to pick another place and are willing to drive farther, it will be well worth it because you want to be able to enjoy every minute of your pregnancy. I feel as though they took some of that away from me.

I am pregnant again and I hate to go back to this group. It's a place that you are only a number. The staff and the doctors do not care about you or your baby, they want you in and out of the room. Some doctors schedule 4 patients on the same time slot. There were times that I had to wait more than an hour for a 5 minute visit. The group is just way too big. I have searched for another group in my area but unfortunately could not find any. I love Mercy Fairfield's birthing center and live right down the street from it. So, going to Bethesda North or Good Samaritan just seems unnecessary. It's not fair that we don't have more Ob/gyn offices and doctors in the area.

I adore Dr. Narendren. She is personable and caring and makes an effort to remember specifics about each patient and their family. She delivered my second child and was exceptionally supportive. Unfortunately her office staff - from the time you call in until the time you show up for your appointment - is as impersonal as she is warm. I believe the size of the practice and volume of patients may be somewhat to blame but in all my dealings the staff have never been friendly. Dr. Narendren is worth it though.
