I live in Alexandria, and Nature's Yarns is worth the drive for me -- great staff, interesting yarns, and a very relaxed atmosphere. I try to get here at least once a month just so I can hang out and chat with the store manager. Another nice touch -- the candy at the counter!

A very friendly yarn shop with beautiful yarns. A place to come and knit plus great eye candy ie., yarns, yarns, yarns!

A lovely yarn shop, highly recommended because of their selection of beautiful yarns and books, their friendly staff, and their enthusiasm for all things related to fiber arts -- knitting, crocheting, weaving, and even bobbin lace! Nature's Yarns is homey and just the place to sit and knit for a while. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

A friendly and welcoming environment where you can browse unmolested or enjoy interplay with staff and customers alike as you choose your fibers. A helpful staff that is always happy to see you and to share knowledge.

Highly recommended. Great selection of yarns. Excellent customer service. Good schedule of courses. They are always bringing in new yarns and new ways to use them!
This is a very friendly, welcoming shop that offers loads of help to new fiber folks in knitting, spinning, weaving, etc. Most highly recommended. Support this local small business.

This is a great little yarn store - spacious, with lots of places to sit and try things. Friendly & knowledgeable staff. Good selection of yarn and fibers, updates regularly, and a selection of books and magazines. They offer a range of fiber craft classes and a knit/spin night.
I recently visited this yarn shop for the first time Saturday 5/23/09. First, the store is easy to find, and has lots of parking available. The store is spacious, and well lit and organized. It has a very welcoming feel. In the middle of the store, there are comfortable chairs, which were filled with knitters. Everyone was very welcoming, including the employee! She pointed out sales, was able to answer questions, and helped figure out yardage conversions for me. This yarn stores caters to natural fiber yarn (wool, silk, bamboo, cashmere, etc.) and the color ways are more towards the natural colors as well. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars is that I do think the natural fiber focus limits the selection. If you are making a washable baby item, this is not the store that will have a great selection in my opinion. The needle selection was average, and the accessory selection (bags, etc.) was minimal. Overall, this is a lovely store to visit.
