      General Info
      I'm Laura Slawson, Certified Professional Resume Writer (CPRW), Certified Professional Virtual Assistant (CPVA) and Owner of The Creative Edge conveniently located in the heart of Bergen County, New Jersey. Most of my career has been in Corporate America, proudly working for top corporate clients such as, Allied Chemical, United States Steel, Tenneco Chemicals, Panasonic Industrial Company, K. Hovnanian Homes, Turner Construction, CBRE (CB Richard Ellis) and several local real estate offices. Early in my career, I began as a Word Processing Operator and was quickly promoted to the Department Supervisor. Word Processing enhanced my eye for formatting, proofreading and grammar. My organizational abilities were proven time and time again as an Administrative Assistant, Senior Administrative Assistant, Executive Administrative Assistant and Project Coordinator. My experience includes policy and procedure writing, technical writing and authoring an On-Boarding manual that was submitted for a "Best Practice." my creative abilities and love of writing enabled me to be a successful Real Estate Copywriter as well. Currently studying at the Institute of Children's Literature has opened another avenue of writing for me. I am also a member of The Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWII). Years of experience, love of the written word, passion and pride in a job well done has led me to this point - a proud Small Business Owner!
