My neighbors had a problem with a female dispatcher at Urban Cable. She wanted to "take over" and not follow protocol for putting in a cable line. (Urban Cable was subcontracted by Comcast to put in the cable line). Prior to having a cable line replaced at my neighbors' house, when all lines are underground, the female dispatcher did not wait for the underground lines to be located. Instead she sent a crew to my neighbors' house anyway. My neighbor informed "N", the assertive dispatcher, that she was told to wait until her underground lines were located and paint was sprayed on the ground showing where the PP&L, phone and cable lines were underground. This dispatcher twisted the conversation and must have intimidated a woman who works for her, first name starts with "C", because she denied talking with the man of the household. I was there when he spoke to "C" because the phone was on speaker so she did not tell the truth either! We live in a small neighborhood, with a couple disabled neighbors. If a dig is done and the electric wire or a cable is severed the power goes off for all of us. A few of us checked out the final sprays were thank glad the dig hadn't been done because their are two lines that crisscross already. Maybe Comcast should look into this matter and see if other digs are being done prior to spraying for underground lines. Protocol is to call "811, pa one call. " An added note... My neighbor said the guys in the crew were very polite and understood the issue. It seems that the female dispatcher, "N", wanted to take charge, no matter the inconvenience it probably would have caused for my neighbor. "N" needs to learn to follow the correct protocol prior to a dig. ( I was polite in not mentioning her first name only the initial. ) Submitted by a concerned Comcast Customer and neighbor
