I have lived in an Ewa By Gentry home for nearly 10 years, the amount of work we have put into our home only after 10 years is due to the shoddy construction and the lack of quality products used when building the home. You will not find a strait wall or a complete leveled floor. The stairs have varying tread for each step. The doors will not properly installed which led to a water damaged door. The bathrooms did not have cement boards they used drywall with a cheap paper liner. Which also led to water damage only after 10 years of use. The venting system, the dryer duct ended up in the attic which the AC unit was using as a supply intake, so had problems with AC unit freezing up and high electric bills. Through out the years I have fixed all these little things but buying a new home you shouldn't have too. My advise to any home buyer of Ewa by Gentry is to find a good inspector before you by to check all that I have mentioned above. I am just glad I had help of some amazing handymen.
