vanderburgh animal control

The staff are very rude when you ask them a question . The other problem is the lack of education the employees have of animals .

you ask a simple question and they dont give a legit answer . Also the facility is always a complete mess letting an animal sit in fexeies and urine is not good. Then instead of helping a dog that is blind or hurt the uthanize them . There system is a mess

Heartbreaking!

The people that work at the Shelter are very nice! I am aware that how the animals are housed is out of their control. They do try to keep the shelter clean. What upsets me is their lack of knowledge about the animals they do have and lack of attention to the animals health.

Kill Shelter

Seems the city of Evansville prefers to build an unwanted stadium than take better care of the abandoned, homeless animals. Tears welled up in me every time I entered this place of death. When it is crowded which is most of the time now, owner surrenders are put down within days after surrender. Cheaper to put them down than try to save them. A better quality city-county shelter is needed. The shelter does what it has to do with the space and funds provided by the city but the city should make the living conditions better. Good quality food needed since most all animals arrive in sad conditions. The shelter should advertise more for saving these animals. The shelter should be one about life and second chances and all means exercised to find a home for God's forgotten and abandoned creatures.

Agree with Steve and Kaitlin

I agree with Steve and Kaitlin. That places is horrible and so sad. I once lost my dog whom HAD tags and I went in everyday for over 6 months to look for him. The last day I went in I brought in more pictures (because they threw the other ones out). I handed it to the receptionist who then informed me that they put down a dog that looked exactly like my dog!!!!!!!! Instead of actually doing their jobs they just put these poor dogs down without properly looking for their homes. I did my part of the job by looking for him (my dog) everyday and speaking with everyone that would speak with me there. They are lazy and rude... I would NEVER want any dog that has a home to EVER end up there!!!!

You're Blach.

I think you guys are MURDERERS.! We brought our English Bulldog in to be placed in a home for aggressive dogs & He didn't pass his temper test, So you guys put him down. We told Monica, The super intendent, That if he didn't pass, Then we wanted him back. Instead of giving him back, She killed him.! She did not return any of our phone calls. (Ten or more.) I had to find out from the woman who went to evaluate him; three days later. But they have a pit bull out there that I went to look at & Showed his teeth & Everything. That is NOT a good dog.! But you are going to put my English Bulldog down just because he didn't pass the Temper Test. That is bullcrap.
