Ate dinner there this past Tuesday and I was disappointed that there were not more vegie entrees on the menu. I did get the duck which was fair in quality. The atmosphere is to bright. The server was unable to answer most of the questions we had and we left a tip which was immediately picked up as we were leaving. Even though the server said under no circumstances can they accept tips. To complicated a place to dine with the food coming out to slow. Our dinner literally took 2 hours for 2 entrees.

Was waiting for the new menu change and saw very little of it. I was hoping for something more. Can not believe that is all they could come up with. Was going to go their last night (Tuesday) and decided on staying home over those minor meny changes.
Read the reviews from others and I couldn't disagree more. Rue Principal was such a wonderful experience from beginning to end, and it delivered on all levels. The atmosphere was warm and inviting with comfortable seating and lovely music, and the staff were very friendly. It felt like I was dining in a french cafe.I started off with the Mussels appetizer which was the best I have ever had. It was so fresh and full of flavor. I then ordered the dinner special pan seared sea scallops. All the ingredients complimented each other with so much incredible flavor in one dish, and perfectly cooked scallops. For dessert I enjoyed a delicious stuffed crepe with fruit and chocolate accompanied by a french press coffee. Everything was delicious! I also love the no tipping rule. It makes the decision whether to dine out easier and much more affordable for the diner. I highly recommend this delightful and delicious restaurant. A rare find and a true taste of France in the Lehigh Valley. You"ll love it

Had dinner there and the portions were very small the menu is uninviting and the service was weak. We were amazed at how cold the soup was and tasteless. The time it took to get our food was close to 28 minutes. Not really a fine dining atmosphere. Sorry

Had dinner there last night. Not much good to say about service or food. Strongly suggest another restaurant if you are looking for a peaceful evening and fine dining. I gave it 3 stars for effort. Which was not really that much. Slow service, food was small portions and had no flavor. No real choices. A small menu with only one French item on it. Try a decent steak on the menu.

Got a free crepe coupon at the Emmaus farmer's market. It was free, but the buckwheat was hard as leather. Got it to go, because the place is uninviting. Hope their lunch and dinners are better, I heard from their suppliers that it was not that good at soft opening even if it was free. Avoid this establishment at all costs. I actually got sick from the free crepe.

How can you actually call this any type of French. The food is disgusting. We ate there last weekend, and it was costly for tasteless food and small plates. We live in Emmaus and were anxiously awaiting the opening. I am sorry, because the place is nicely done on the interior. WE can not in good faith recommend it to our neighbors.

Although the restaurant is a great idea. We were very disappointed in the food. The food took forever to arrive and then it was cold. our entre was ice cold. The dessert menu is really not a dessert menu. We always try restaurants twice, and because of the owner and manager we will try 187 again. Hopefully they will get the food together, and a better menu offering.
